Specs comparison: Huawei Mate 20 Pro vs OnePlus 6T Mclaren Edition

OnePlus smartphones have already been considered as a flagship killer. With the launch of its latest Mclaren edition, it would be interesting to see whether the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will able to give OnePlus most expensive phone a tough competition?
For the very first time, OnePlus has collaborated with the famous car manufacturer “Mclaren”. The latest OnePlus 6T is stylish in terms of design as it carries the same signature color, which Mclaren has been using in its cars for almost 20 years or more than that. It is also the first device that comes with 10GB RAM. However, the Lenovo is all set to launch its Z5 Pro GT, which will be the world’s first device to come with 12GB RAM. On the other hand, we have the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that has a triple camera set up at the back and is powered by Kirin 980 processor, which should be powerful. Let’s do a quick specs comparison first to know whether the device is enough to beat OnePlus 6T in terms of hardware at least on paper.
Let’s begin with comparing these two devices in detail. The Huawei Mate 20 Prosports a 6.39-inch display that offers a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. On the other side, the OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition comes with a 6.4-inch display that offers a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
When it comes to the performance, the OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is paired with 10GB RAM and 256GB internal memory, which is not expandable, while the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is powered by a Kirin 980 octa-core processor, which is clocked at 2.36GHz. The phone packs 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory that is expandable to up to 256GB via a microSD card.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition has a dual camera set up at the back, same as the regular OnePlus 6T. It has 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera along with a 16MP unit on the front. On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a triple 40MP + 20MP + 8MP rear cameras and 24MP sensor on the front.
The OnePlus Mclaren edition box also contains a Warp charger 30, which according to the company can provide a full day battery in just 20 mins of charging.
The OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition has been launched in India at a price of Rs 50,999,while you can get the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India for Rs 69,990.

6 noob mistakes to avoid when playing PUBG Mobile

A single mistake can cost you the game in PUBG Mobile. Ensure that you avoid making these in your quest for that elusive chicken dinner.

Winning a round of PUBG Mobile is not easy. It’s a tricky game that seems to reward luck just as equally as skill. You can try all the tips and tricks in the book, but a single mistake can see you gunned down by the opposition. However, some mistakes are way too common for us to ignore any longer. So without further ado, here are some noob mistakes that are just asking for trouble.

Unnecessary looting

This is possible the most common mistake players tend to make. In their haste to get the best possible loot, they tend to spend a majority of the game looting. Remember, the objective of the game is to be the last player alive, not be the player that has the most loot. If you find a decent set of armor, a good gun, and a decent scope, looting should no longer take priority.

Immediately looting a downed player

There are so many players who instinctively make their way to the player they have just killed in order to loot their gear. There are so many ways this can backfire. The gun battle may have alerted nearby players who might come and investigate. Add to this the fact that downed players let off a flashing green light and accompanying smoke, and you’ve literally given your position away. This is especially true in case of Duos or Squad mode where some players start looting even before the rest of the team has been defeated. Don’t be that player. Make sure that the coast is clear, then get to looting.

Rushing supply drops

Supply drops can sometimes be the difference between victory and loss. The loot in a drop crate can make you one of the most powerful players in the match. As such, the desire to immediately head towards one can be great. However, unless the drop is right next to you, rushing towards the crate is suicide. There are plenty of other guys who will have the same idea and will be rushing towards the crate as well. It’s a better idea to stop, survey the area around the crate, and then proceed. Remember, the early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse always get the cheese.

Not changing position after being spotted

If you attack a player and they duck behind a cover, many players tend to stay in the same location, waiting for the enemy to come out from cover. That is liable to get you killed by either the same player, or another player who has come to investigate. If your target ducks behind cover, you should move away to another location. This may give you another angle from which to flank your enemy, while he/she is still trying to spot you.

Engaging an enemy without a clear strategy

Unless you really want that ‘Terminator’ badge, you’ll do well to remember that PUBG is all about being the last one alive. This means that killing is just one part of the action. In fact, it’s possible to win without even killing a single player. So if you see an enemy who hasn’t spotted you yet, you might not want to give up your location just yet. There could be many reasons for this. The player may be beyond the range of your weapon, or he/she may be better equipped that you. Also, they may have cover near the, while you may not. So keep this in mind before engaging another player.

Not watching your flank

When hiding in tall grass, you movements can give you away and makes for a very silly way to die. Not many people realise that they can look around, without physically moving the player. This can be done by using that tiny little joystick that looks like an eye, which is located right next to the map. This allows you to turn the camera around, without moving the player.

If you've ever wondered which are the best places to land for loot in all four maps available in PUBG Mobile, then you have come to the right place.

If you've ever wondered which are the best places to land for loot in all four maps available in PUBG Mobile, then you have come to the right place.

When it comes to battle royale games like PUBG Mobile, where you land can be the difference between chicken dinner, and a trip back to the game lobby. This is the first decision you have to make in the game and one that has to be done quickly. Landing at the right spot means that you can gear up quickly, and be on the move. The longer you take to gear up, the more time you spend hunting for gear and not other players.

Before we get down to naming locations in each of the four maps, we should make a few things a little clear, lest you come after us wielding pitchforks:
A) The landing locations mentioned here are based on the probability of finding good loot. PUBG Mobile is a game that randomises loot and loot locations. So there is a small chance that you won't find exactly what you are looking for in these locations.
B) There is a very good probability that you will not be the only ones to land here. So make sure you’re good enough to fight off any opposing players that make the mistake of landing with you. Keep a lookout for other parachutes when landing.
C) We are not saying that you should always jump down to these locations. Many players have their own preferred landing locations and that is perfectly fine.

With that out of the way, Let’s begin:

Erangel

Pochinki: ‘nuff said.
Georgopol/Hospital: The north section of Georgopol features many apartments, while the south side has loads of shipping containers. These location make for great loot as well as hiding sports. Also, they make for good places to hide from other players as well. If Georgopol is a little too crowded, you can consider making a break south, towards the Hospital.
Yasnaya Polynaya: Located just northeast of the School, this place offers a number of apartments. So you get a lot of loot. However, if you’ve landed with a bunch of other players, and want to make a fast getaway, finding a vehicle can be tough.
Novorepnoye: Most people tend to gravitate towards the Military Base in the southern island. However, it’s Novorepnoye that tends offers better loot that’s more densely packed. It’s more like a smaller version of Georgopol.
School: The School itself, as well as the apartments to the east of it make for pretty good landing spots. When landing at the school, try and land on the east side of the roof and drop down directly to the auditorium for good loot.

Miramar

Los Leones: This a huge city packed with apartments as well as commercial buildings. Lots of loot here, but be wary of snipers located on rooftops.
Pecado: This location features a large arena as well as a casino. Looting these locations can offer good loot, but be wary of other players doing the same. The four-story hotel may offer a safer location to loot.
San Martin/Hacienda del Patron: This little town features a number of houses for you to loot, but be wary of other players since there are few places to hide once you decide to leave town. Thankfully, there tends to be some vehicles that spawn here, so try and procure one of those when you make your exit. If you want to play a little safe, you might consider landing a little east, towards hacienda del Patron.
El Pozo: Located towards the west section of the map, El Pozo features a number of commercial buildings that you can loot. There is also a Luchador Arena that offers much promise.
Monte Nuevo: This place is located south of El Pozo and offers a number of houses that you can loot. There are also some walls that can offer cover in case you aren’t the only one to land here.

Sanhok

Bootcamp: Located at the center of the map, Bootcamp offers lots of gear. However, it has the same problem that Pochinki has in Erangel i.e. - expect a lot of people to land with you.
Paradise Resort: Located northeast of Bootcamp, Paradise Resort promises a lot of loot within its numerous buildings. However, if other players land with you (which they most likely will), expect tense shootouts.
Pai Nan: Located just south of Bootcamp, Pai Nan makes for a good spot to land, since most people tend to go for Bootcamp or any other location nearby. Land, quickly gear up and use a vehicle to move to an ambush location near the bridge. You can also get on a boat and take the river to try and flank your opponents.
Kampong: Located in the East, Kampong offers a relatively good loot. However, the rice paddies around the location are pretty open, so keep that in mind when you’re exiting the place.
Sahmee: This places is located on the southern part of the island and tends to offer top quality loot. On top of this, this place is usually not that popular, so you can loot in relative peace.

Vikendi

Volnova: Most people tend to head towards the Castle, but don’t realise that Volnova promises the most loot. As such, makes for a better drop zone than the Castle, not to mention the fact that there are only three bridges out of the castle, which can act like ambush points.
Dobro Mesto: Located on the western edge of the map, Dobro Mesto is a large city that offers multiple houses for you to loot. However, since it is in the corner of the map, keep your eyes open when the map starts to shrink.
Goroka: Located close to the center, Goroka offers multiple houses as well as impressive amounts of loot. However, it also tends to be pretty popular with other players as well. There is a also a large lake to the south and south east. You can risk running through it, but you’ll leave yourself open for ambush.
Podvosto: Another little town that promises good loot, Podvosto is located north of the Castle. It also sports a couple of vehicle spawn points that you can use to get out if things get too hot.
Movatra: Located just south of Dobo Mesto, Movatra holds a decent amount  of loot, and is generally empty. However, the vehicle spawn probability in the area means that you can also choose to quickly loot and move on to other areas like the Dino Park located to the east.

Specs comparison: Asus Rog vs OnePlus 6T

The Asus has finally launched its Gaming Phone "Asus Rog" in India after announcing the phone earlier this year at Computex. We are comparing the device against the OnePlus 6T to see what the company has to offer with its Latest gaming phone against one of the most popular flagship device "OnePlus 6T".

he Asus has announced its gaming phone back in July 2018 at Computex. Now, the phone has finally been launched in India this Thursday. The Asus Rog is the world’s first smartphone with a 3D vapor chamber cooling system. Besides that, the other highlights of the  Asus Rog are its ultrasonic Air Trigger touch sensor, an AMOLED display, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. On the other hand, we have the OnePlus 6T, which comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, a full HD+ optic AMOLED display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. So, let’s compare these two devices to see which one is the right buy for you in terms of specifications.
The Asus gaming smartphone “Rog” comes with a 6.0-inch display that offers a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. On the other hand, the OnePlus 6T sports a 6.3-inch display that offers a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Despite being a gaming smartphone, Rog has a slightly smaller display in comparison to the OnePlus 6T.
When it comes to the processor, both smartphones are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. However, the Asus Rog comes in the 8GB/128GB and 8GB/512GB variant, while the OnePlus 6T is launched in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variant.
As far as the cameras are concerned, if you’re particularly looking for a smartphone with a dual camera setup then the OnePlus 6T might fit the bill. The smartphone features a dual 16MP + 20MP rear camera with a 16MP unit on the front. On the other side, the Asus Rog is equipped with a 12MP unit on the back with an 8MP sensor at the front.
Overall, both smartphones almost feature a similar hardware. However, the Asus Rog is a device that is specifically designed for gamers who are looking for a phone in which, they can play games smoothly. The Asus Rog is the world’s first device that comes with a 3D vapor chamber cooling system. The device is available in India for Rs 69,990, while you can get the OnePlus 6T at Amazon for Rs 37,999

OnePlus wants fans to name its upcoming Smart TV

Last day for submitting name entries for the new OnePlus Smart TV is October 17. The winner stands a chance to attend the launch of the OnePlus TV

OnePlus announced that it is working on a TV. No details are known about the product, not even the name. But speaking of the name, OnePlus is looking towards its community to christen its TV. On its official website, OnePlus has said, “To kick off this journey, we ask for your help in giving our TV product something truly special: a NAME.” There are of course prizes involved in case your name suggestion is used. Interested? Well, read on to know how to enter!
Those interested can enter their proposed name for the OnePlus TV here before October 17. A person can suggest multiple names, but only one name per entry. On October 31, the OnePlus team will choose their favourite 10 suggestions. Each of these 10 favourites will get a pair of OnePlus Bullets Wireless. These aren’t the finalists though. 10 finalists will also be chosen, and 1 grand-prize winner will be chosen by the OnePlus team. The winner will be announced before December 17, 2018.
We presume that OnePlus will launch its Smart TV sometime early next year. If the winning name is selected from the suggestions, the user who suggested the winning name will receive one of the first OnePlus TVs and one round-trip airfare and hotel to the first OnePlus TV launch event.
As far as rules for entering the contest are concerned, participants can suggest as many names as they like, but are only eligible to win ONE pair of OnePlus Bullets Wireless headset. If a winning name was proposed more than once, the user who suggested the name first will be selected as the winner.
As we’ve mentioned above, there is no information available about the OnePlus TV. However, we can expect it launch with a bunch of AI features. Considering the boom of budget 4K TVs erupting in the market, we think it will be a 4K TV. It is also possible that the TV will sport HDR. We hope the TV runs on Android out of the box, if Android is the chosen OS. However, we hope that it doesn’t sport AOSP (Android Open Source Platform).
With AOSP, you will get mobile versions of streaming apps like Prime Videos and Netflix. This means that if the TV supports 4K, the streaming apps will not be able to take advantage of the capabilities of the display. Also, the UI of these streaming apps will be a little cumbersome to use.

OnePlus offers 2 years of Android updates, 3 years of security patches for OnePlus 3 and above

Under OnePlus' new Software Maintenance Schedule, OnePlus 3 and the smartphones that came after it will get major software updates and Android versions for two years after launch. Bi-monthly security patches will also be seeded to the devices for one more year.

OnePlus has announced a Software Maintenance Schedule under which its devices will get two years of regular software updates from the date of the phone's launch. These two years of major software updates include new Android versions, features and Android security patches. After the initial two years of software updates are made available, the company will also rollout one more year of Android security patches on a bi-monthly basis. The OnePlus 3/3T, OnePlus 5/5T, and the new OnePlus 6 (review) devices fall under the new Software Maintenance Schedule, which the company says is going to be put into effect immediately. Under the new Software Maintenance Schedule, the OnePlus 3/3T will receive regular OTA updates till November 2018. Which means that the OnePlus 3 will get support for another few months, when you take into account its launch date.
OnePlus announced the news in its forums and also reminded users that the last Open Beta build for the OnePlus 3/3T will be seeded later this week. Also, as the Open Beta program for the OnePlus 3/3T comes to a close in early July, the company will be rolling out a stable version for the devices.
This is good news for OnePlus users as they will now get an accurate idea of how long OnePlus will support their device. However, speaking of new patches, OnePlus needs to fix bugs, which were present in the last OxygenOS version (v5.1.8) that was rolled out a couple of weeks back. With the new OxygenOS 5.1.8 release, some OnePlus 6 users complained of faster battery drain and the same problem was observed with OnePlus 3/3T users after updating to OxygenOS 5.0.3
